Wang Jiming (Academician of CAE)：Enterprise is the basic element in the society of China and essential component of Chinese economy. A responsible Chinese enterprise must understand that it shall pay attention to social development and assume social responsibility when seeking economic benefits. Enterprises shall pay attention to environmental protection and dedicate themselves to the sound and harmonious development of enterprises, society and the environment. The development of enterprises shall pay attention to not only economic indicators, but also human indicators, resource indicators and environment indicators. When seeking production growth and raising efficiency, enterprises should perform their responsibilities in such areas as respecting human right, meeting labor standard, protecting the rights and interests of labors and the environment, honest operation, raising employment level, supporting the vulnerable groups, active participating public affairs, helping and driving the development of neighboring areas and underdeveloped regions. Chinese enterprises are playing a key role in facilitating economic growth and environmental protection as well as taking on social responsibilities. It is an urgent task for Chinese enterprises to build an environment-friendly society.
