Mr. Wang has long been engaged in the basic study of watershed water recycle and related eco-environment effect, the application of water resource planning and management as well as the application study on water resource economics and complicated system decision-making approaches. He was in charge of a range of major research projects including those of state-level key subjects during the 8th, 9th and 10th “Five-Year” Plan period, the National 973 Program, special project for the western region of state-level science and technology study and those supported by key fund. He completed the National Medium and Long-term Development Planning on Water as the principal technical chief, participated in the documentation and in charge of the special research of the overall planning of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. He also participated in the water resource consultation program of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Presently Mr. Wang is the Chief Scientist of the National 973 Program on Sea Area and River Water Recycle Evolvement Mechanism and Efficient Utilization of Water Resources.
